[Work, SLO, CA] Hump When was the last time you used the word hump? My friend suddenly used it at work when she was talking about getting her dog spayed so that it would stop "humping" things. I thought it was hilarious. I haven't heard that word in so long. I remember looking up the definition when I was in elementary school. The definition was "to arch" and the example was: The cat humped its back. All of us school children thorugh that this was funny because we totally ignored the definition and stuck with the sexual hump definition in our minds. We all pictured cats trying to hump their backs. posted at 12:17 AM by Super Ben Friday, August 10, 2001 [Holiday Inn Express, SLO, CA] Another Wierd Dream I had the wierdest dream while I took a nap. I know you've all tried to hold in farts, but there the certain thing like a cough, sneeze, or tickle that lets it out involuntarily and you hope that that action covers up the sound of it coming out. Anyways in my dream I was sitting around a table with a bunch of friends and I think I laughed and a fart came out. It was a little one becuase I tried to hold it in, but this one kept coming out. The fart continued on for a long minute. Brown liquid stuff (shit?) started shooting straight out from my stomach and I started to freak out. The fart was still going and stuff was squirting out of me. Enveryone was like gross and wanted to stay as far away from me as possible. Then I woke up and thought about what it meant. I didn't need to fart or shit or anything. I didn't feel like peeing either. I wonder what that dream meant. posted at 11:49 PM by Super Ben [New Apt on Brizzolara St., SLO, CA] FINALLY BACK ONLINE My DSL isn't due back until the 15, but I decided to plug my DSL modem in to see what happens. I wasn't really expecting the green line sync light to stay on. I ws expecting it to blink red trying to find a network connection, but it was solid green. I then connected the ehternet cable to my computer and verified that it was working and now here I am. It is great to finally have my own connection again after about a week and a half of not having one. I'm still alittle shocked that my DSL got turned on this quickly. Last time it took Pacbell/SBC 10 months to get me back online. American Pie 2 This is "THE Movie" of the summer. This knocked Rush Hour 2 down to the number 2 spot on my summer movie list. No one can go wrong in seeing this movie. It is pure comedy throughout. I laughed out loud so much during the entirety of the film. I went with people that haven't seen the first one and they also thought it was funny. It would have been funnier to them if they had seen the first film. There was one funny thing that happened to me before seeing it. I GOT CARDED! I guess they are really enforcing the R restriction on the film. When I was in high school I and under 18 I could get into R rated films without getting carded. The first time I was carded was when I went to go see South Park: The Movie and then now with American Pie 2. What was South Park rated? Was it R? I can't remember. Thise first time I went to buy alcohol on my birthday I wasn't carded. What's up with that? I get carded when I least expect it and I don't when I expect it. It's kind of crazy if you ask me. posted at 6:36 PM by Super Ben Thursday, August 09, 2001 [Holiday Inn Express, SLO, CA] Kool-Aid I was standing around at work having a conversation with co-workers about some work related stuff when I suddenly though about Kool-Aid. I even blurted it out to share my totally random thought with them. I haven't had Kool Aid in so long. I don't even remember when. One of my favorites was Purplesaurus Rex. I think that was a grape flavored one. There was also a tropical punch mix that changed colors when mixed in the water. I think it turned from teh blue powder into a yellow drink. That one was pretty funny. I never did try that one. In elementary school and middle schoole we did all sorts of funny things with it. Some people colored their hair with it. I remeber eating the mix straight out of the little packets (the ones with no sugar yet). Those one would be really sour. And then we would also carry around the sandwich bags filled with the kool-aid packet and sugar mix. Colored hands resulted from sharing it with your friends. One would have to pour it into others hands in order to share it. There was one guy, Edmund Leung, whom we called "the Devil" that would snort the kool-aid. He was one wierd one. Does anyone remember Kool-Aid points. I had a ton of those. I don't think I ever redeemed them for anyhting. I even used to have my mom buy Kool-Aid just so I could get the points. Damn commercialism. It warps the minds of young children to do the bidding of the companies. posted at 12:34 PM by Super Ben Wednesday, August 08, 2001 [CCLA, SLO, CA] Santa Barbara Another crazy day for me. I woke up really early this morning so that I could drive all the way down to SB to pick up someone at 8:00am. I set my alarm for 5:30 and left around 6:00. I got there about 7:34 is so I drove around town for about half an hour before going to pick her up. When I got to the house everyone started saying their goodbyes and whatnot. So then we were off to the airport. She was headed back to Japan after being here for 2 weeks. We go her checked in and her flight boarded at 9:20 so she went into the gate at 9:05. I said my goodbye and then drove all the way back to SLO. All of this just to bring her to SB airport which was 15 minutes away from her house. SB is about 100 miles from SLO and I drove both ways and got back to SLO around 10:30. Rush Hour 2 After my morning rush I wanted to do something relaxing. Rush Hour 2 came out last Friday and I really wanted to see it. I coazed a couple of poeple into coming with me to go see it in Arroyo Grande, about 2 cities down. The Sony theatre there is really cool because they have stadium seating with semi-reclining seats. The movie itself was great. It was so funny. It was pretty much like the original and almost predictable, but there were many great scenes that were totally new to see. A couple of the fight scenes were reminiscent of the first film, but the plot twists and turns were a lot better than the original. This one had a lot more action, too. I would definitely call this my best movie this summer. You know I'll be the first to get the DVD to enjoy in my home theatre. posted at 4:04 PM by Super Ben “ú–{Œê‚Ìtestposted at 4:00 PM by Super Ben Tuesday, August 07, 2001 [CCLA, SLO, CA] Another Unfamiliar Ceiling Today I woke up again to another unfamiliar ceiling. Actually it included an unfamiliar bed. My manager from work let me stay at her place for the night since I was still homeless. She let me stay in her roommates room. I guess she missed having someone named Ben around becuase her roommate is also named Ben. But the funny story happened the night before. She had told me just to come over and go in because she never locks her door. I didn't feel right just going into someones house without them there, especially if I've never been there before. I called a couple of times but she wasn't home. It was getting dark and I was getting tired so I just went. I got there about 7:30PM and went to the door rang the bell and there was no answer. I waited several minutes and started to get hungry. A Mess in My Pants I drove down the street and found a McDonalds and got a Big 'n Tasy meal. I got it to go just in case she had already gotten home. I got there and the not I had left was still there. I ate and waited in the car. Soon there was no more sun, just the streetlight and the light of cars passing by. I finished up my food and found myself stained. I had held the burger over my lap the whole time. The sauce had leaked through the wrapper and gotten all over my pants. If one didn't know what had happened, I probably could have gotten arrested or something (think PeeWee Herman). It's a good thing I have a bunch of clothes in my car because I'm in the moving process. I changed my pants ASAP. It was getting close to 8:30 and I was getting sleepy. I relined my seat and angled my mirrors so that I could see each car that went by. Cars came and went and teased me as they slowed down only to pull into the next driveway. I must've layed there for an hour and a half. I needed more space Sleeping in the Trunk I folded down my back seat to revel the trunk. I had a pillow back there that I put on the joint to make it more comfortable. I positioned myself so that my legs were in the trunk and my body was on the back seat. I spread more clotes around to make it softer and I guess I fell asleep for a while. She finally came back home at about midnight. She had been out with a friend and though I would've paged her if I had any problems. I did find a new way to be comfotable in my car. I'm also going to keep extra blankets and pillows in my car as well. Moving Day Finally moving day. I'm getting tired of being homeless. I'm gonna have to move all of the stuff. This is gonna be the second move and I am the only one here to do it. My roommate is in New York with his mother so he won't be able to help. I borrowed the school's van to help me out and It looks like I might have to make 2 trips in the van. We have so much stuff. About 70% of it is actually mine. It's good to finally have a home, even though it doesn't have furniture. posted at 11:21 AM by Super Ben Monday, August 06, 2001 [CCLA, SLO, CA] Broken Sunglasses I was moving some stuff today and as I was holding a box I stepped on something which made a cracking sound. I couldn't see what it was because the box was in my way and I had no idea where my feet were going. The object turned out to be my sunglasses. One of the ear pieces fell off and on of the lenses chipped a little. I feel kind of bad becuase those were my favorite pair of sunglasses ever. I treated them like shit, but they worked for me. I got them on City Walk at Universal Studios about 2 years ago. They only cost me about $12 so no big deal. At least it wasn't a pair of $100 Oakleys or something. Why pay $100+ for a pice of plastic when you can pay about $15 for something that does the same trick. But over these two years, I think I got my moneys worth out of them. Now it's time to go search for a new pair... or I could just wear them with one earpice and the other side with nothing. All the weight would be supported on my nose and the sprin loaded earpice will grip to my head. posted at 1:59 PM by Super Ben Sunday, August 05, 2001 [Holiday Inn Express, SLO, CA] Santa Barbara Whew! What a tiring day. I got off work this morning at 7AM and then went to Santa Barbara at around 8:30AM. I got to sleep a little while in the car, but SB is only 1½ hours away from SLO. It wasn't that much of rest for me. The thing that I thought about was how was I going to get rest because I had to work again tonight at 11PM. There was now way for me to get rest today. I even drove the car back to SLO. Right now I'm feeling very sleepy typing this, but I have to finish the audit and stick around here for 7 more hours. posted at 11:54 PM by Super Ben |
