Not Blogging Recently
In light of this weeks tragic event, I have not had much motivation to do anything Blog-worthy. My focus has been on sticking to the television set awaiting new findings on the subject matter. I am showing my support buy flying my American flag on my car and my room. Please show your support in our country by prominently displaying Old Glory proudly.

Attack on America
Oh my god! What can I say?!? I went to sleep at about 4AM this morning and I wasn't happy when my roommate woke me up this morning. He came into my room and told me to look at the TV in the living room (to which I have a clear sight from my bed). I saw a fireball coming from one of the World Trade Center Towers. I was a little dazed and tired so I didn't pay much attention to what it really was and went to sleep. My cel phone rang a couple minutes later and I answered it but it was a little screwed up so I hung up on the person. It turns out that Kaori's host mother had hit the redial button and accidentally called me in the morning. The previous dial was from Kaori trying to call me, but I didn't hear it.
Upon waking up for real I realized what was going on. I flipped through the channels to find which had the best coverage. I settled between CNN and MSNBC. I couldn't believe what I saw. The scene of the second airplane crashing into the building has imprinted itsself into my mind. I still keep getting the chills when I see it. kaori had told me that her ex-boyfriend works there, but there has been no contact with him. I was even more surprised to find out that it wasn't only New York that was attacked, but Washington, D.C. as well. This is all retty scary to me. I don't know why, but this event make me feel more American; a hurt and angry American. I watched the footage over and over again and new footage kept coming up. Both towers collapsed and it is so unbelievable. This is truly an Attack on America.
Lean, Green, Fighting Machine
Still being in the Army Reserve, I felt that it was my duty to report into my unit. I hesitated to call because they might have wanted me to go to Sacramento. I called and they told me that I could to report in to Vandenberg Air Force Base, about 45 minutes south of here. I went to my car to get my uniform so that I can prep it. I didn't want to go all scrubby and stuff. I ironed my jacket and pants, and I shined my boots. I dawned on my uniform and headed over to Vandenberg Air Force Base to check in. We were briefed on terrorism and told that we were on call. I don't think I'll get called in, but I want to be able to do something. My country was hurt and I want some peace of mind. President Bush may declare war, but I think that is extreme. Either way I have a duty to do for my country.
One less site
I didn't do any tourists things that last time I was in New York. Now I have one less place to go to in New York. I can't believe both 110-story buildings are now gone from the New York skyline. I wanted to go to New York, but I don't know what I would have done if I was there. Can the world get anymore horrible than this? Even now, many hours later, I still can't believe it. I love my freedon and my country. I am proud to be American and I cannot allow anybody to condemn me because I am. A piece of our property has been taken away from us, but they cannot take away our spirit.

Not in New York
The top should be reading [Chito's Apartment, Queens, NY], but instead I am sitting here at work. I could not go to New York for my summer trip. I hardly went anywhere this summer vacation. I worked all summer. The time that I did get off of work was to work another job. I was supposed to be in NY from September 8 to the 15th so that I could meet my friend there. One friend, Yuki, flew there from Japan, and we were supposed to meet up, but no we cannot. The lat time I was there, I did not do any of the tourist things. I jsut hung around with my cousin and he showed me what he does everyday. I was amazed at how many people knew him on the streets of the city. Every couple blocks someone knew him. This trip was one of the purposes of buying my digital camera. Now that school is starting, it will be hard for me to find time for a trip. Oh well...
