Anime Express Grand Opening
I was able to participate today in the grand opening of my friend Jason's new anime store. I met him while he was still in the planning stages of the store. It's great to see the dream of a friend come into fruition. I would say that the opening was very successful. There were so many people coming into the store. The line was out the door. The radio station also came by to help promote. There was even a Nintendo Gamecube given away. Congratulations to Jason and Brandy! Check out my Anime Express Grand Opening page.

DeLorean
After lunch as we were driving to Trader Joe's we came to a stoplight and looked over to see a DeLorean. We thought that it was funny to see that car sitting there at the stoplight. I had seen this particular car one time about 2 years ago. At that time someone was selling it for $5,000. If I had the money I would have bought it. It's pretty wierd to see this car in a "non-Back to the Future" setting. It is definitely a pretty cool car thought.

Dropped Camera
I am so pissed off right now. Someone dropped my brand new digital camera while we were taking some after dinner pictures. My Sony DSC-P50 2.1 Megapixel camera is right now my most prized possession. The aura of new-ness has now left the spirit of this camera. There are now imperfections in the casing. I have no idea if there are any internal problems and I sure hope there aren't any. I had just cancelled the protection policy on it too. Maybe it was a sign that I shouldn't have cancelled it.
This camera is very important to me because it is my best companion and will be one of the main tools in documenting my life here on the website. I try to have a camera everywhere I go. With this one it is a lot easier. I jsut point and shoot and delete what I don't want. I used to take a lot of pictures with a 35mm camera, but the development process takes too long and costs too much. It also took/takes too much time to scan them into the computer. There are stil a couple of rolls that I haven't developed and many more pictures that I haven't scanned.

Missing Class
I missed class for the first time today. I don't know whether the extra sleep was worth not going to class. I kind of feel bad for not going to my Philospphy class.

Dirty Mice, Shared Computers
After wandering around for several minutes I decide to go see my advisor. She was already had an 11:00 appointment so I signed up for 11:30 and am no killing time before then. I come just down the hall to the new computer lab. It is filled with a bunch of iMacs. I figure it is good for me because it'll give me chance to learn them more. I approach the one on he end and sit down. As I grab for the mouse, I feel that it is all crusty and and there is crap all over the mouse. The mouse on the next computer was also the same. I used the mousepad to get as much off as I could. The keyboard is also filthy. I'm gonna go wash my hands after this and get out of here. Maybe they need to make a position up for someone to go out and clean all computer keyboards and mice.

Cell Phone Convenience
My damn cell phone isn't working again. I think it's because there are too many student with the same service. The system is always busy. I guess thats why night's and weekend's are free. The system is also busy when I call at night or on the weekends. I tried calling 6-1-1, thenumber to call customer service, and I couldn't even get through to them.

Cutting Corners
All over school I see corners being cut. I'll try to take pictures. You can see people doing that everywhere you go. there are trampled patches of grass or no grass at all near corners of busy walkways. one can also see dirt paths down hills in between walkways. i cut corners too, but have never really been conscious about it until now.
Chicken Egg
In my philosophy class today we had a discussion about how this world is full of opposites. We had a discussion based on the cycles of the soul and how it exists. We discussed how Socrates explained hot comes from cold and cold comes from hot. And how sleeping comes from ebing away ake being awake comes from sleeping. He used these arguments to prove that being alive comes from death and death comes from being alive. Therefore teh soul exists in a cycle of passing through life and death. Someone then compared this to the chicken and the egg theory. Which came first? I had a non-philosophical/scientific explaination for this, but I didn't want to bring it up. I blieve that the organism that came to be known as the chicken used to give birth to live young. A genetic mutation then occured withing the species to produce eggs instead of live young. this gene became a dominant gene within the population and chickens came to be what we know today. thats my theory.

Flying Again
My friend kaori told me about a good deal last night on the United Airlines site. they were offering reduced travel awards sales to all regions. A regular domestic round trip ticket would be 25,000 miles usually, but they are offering them until November 15 for only 15,000. As for a ticket to Japan or the rest of Asia it would only be 40,000 instead of the normal 60,000 miles. I just gotta figure out what dates I want to go. I'm definitely thinking of New York right now. I missed my chance this summer so I'll try to go this time.

Fast Food
I've been surviving off of fast food recently. I think it's because I have no time to cook anything or really be home. It's either work or school now with not much time in between. I hope I don't get fat, but I probably will. I need to get myself on some exercise regime.
Studying
What's the deal with people studying at coffee shops and stuff. I understand studying at the library or at school, but coffee shops. Aren't epople disciplined enough to study at home? I don't get it. I never really understood the concept of study until I got into college. When I was in elementary school and high school I thought that studying was getting really deep into the text book and memorizing the whole thing. I would jsut do my work, homework, and tests and get by with A's and B's. I didn't really know that doing homeowork was studying until now. I never really did much of it. I would always rush my assignments when I was younger. In 5th grade I would always race with Brandon Gibson on our math quiz. The teacher would alwyas get mad, but I would always get a perfect score.
