[Home, SLO, CA] Dogma Today I watch the movie, Dogma, with my friend Kaori. I've had the DVD for quite a while, but I never opened it till today. It was prety funny. She, on the other hand, didn't understand it because she was raised in Japan with no knowledge of Catholicism or other western religions. As I watched the movie I thought about my faith. Recently I've been thinking about it a lot. I might start going back to church again. I'm not sure what brought this feeling about, but I am almost glad that it did. posted at 9:58 PM by Super Ben [Home, SLO, CA] Making Sushi I was invited to a Sushi party by my friend Shira and her roommate, Debbie. She went out and bought the fish and invited a couple of people to her house to make sushi. We made regular sushi and roll sushi. I tried my hand at making the regular ones and they turned out pretty well. Everybody liked the ones tha tI made. I don't know how I did it. I don't really eat sushi that often, but I just remembered how it was made and tried my hand at it. It seems that I was rather skillful at it. There was the one that I put too much wasabi on. It was the last piece that I ate, but I think it was the very first one that I made. This was a really fun activity that everyone could take part in. Sushi was not the only thing we had for dinner. We started off with miso soup and edamame (soy beans) while we were making the sushi, and then came the sushi, and a 2 course desert that consisted of Lychee and grapes and some mochi ice cream. I am still stuffed right now. Can't wait for another one. posted at 1:37 AM by Super Ben Friday, October 26, 2001 [Home, SLO, CA] No Time I jsut realized how little time I have recently. I'm trying to balance school and 3 jobs right now. I can't even clean my room or cook for myself. I'm always going out to eat becaus eI am lazy. I sometimes rely on stuff that's been left in the fridge for a while. I can't really afford to be spending money right now. I think I need to take a time management course or something. posted at 4:06 PM by Super Ben 5 more days... posted at 1:54 AM by Super Ben Thursday, October 25, 2001 [Home, SLO, CA] Car Trouble After paying $360 to get new tires and to get my CV boot repaired I had more car problems that I had to pay for. I got into a little accident in which my car was damaged. nobody was hurt. Thank God for that. I might make a page about it if I have time. I was going a little too fast on an offramp here in SLO. The offramps are all 90 degree turns here in SLO. You have to slow down to 20 on the freeway to exit these things properly. Something happened to my car as I was exiting and then I hit the curb and bent my front left axle and wheel. It cost me $475 to get it repaired because I needed new parts. This is so much money to be spending in 3 days. I also had to borrow a friends car just so I could make it to school. posted at 10:52 AM by Super Ben Wednesday, October 24, 2001 [University Union, CalPoly, SLO, CA] Getting Back In Touch I ran into some CalPoly PCE (Pilipino Cultural Exchange) people at the anime store yesterday and they introdueced themselves to me. They had invited me to come to the meetings once again. I haven't been to one of those meetings in a long ass time. I told them that I would go. And then today I ran into another person that I used to know, Joni, right before my Physics lab. In the short time we walke and talked together we talked about how people lose touch and are afraid to come back and talk to each other. It was so true and had moved me. This encounter had made me emotional today. I'm so glad that these people had taken the initiative to make contact again. posted at 11:24 AM by Super Ben Monday, October 22, 2001 [Home, SLO, CA] From Tread to No Tread All four tires on my car have been really worn down. It wasn't until today that I replaced all of them. I do notice quite a change in how the car drives with them. I even got my CV Boot replaced. it turns out that Honda's have a real problem with CV boots needing repairs. I spent a total o $360 even. The tires were $220 and the CV boot replacement was $140. There was one problem that the mechanic told me about the car. He said that Honda makes cars so that the wheels cannot be aligned vertically and that one must have an aftermarket kit to be ale to fix it up. That would be about $160. That's enough money spent for now. posted at 4:21 PM by Super Ben [Home, SLO, CA] Almost Towed Another Car Last night draged on for so long. It seemed like the longest night at work ever. I really looked forward to getting to sleep. As I pulled around the last corner to my street, I saw my roommates car parked outside on the street. I figured that he parked there so that I could park in the single spot allocated to our apartment. The poblem with the spot he was in is that it was in the fire lane. we can only park legally on one side of the street, yet other people do park in the fire lane overnight. there was a silver Dodge Stratus parked in MY spot. I was pissed off. there was no parking for at least a block. i'm not paying my rent at the complex so that I would have to give my spot up to some random person. I promptly called the towing ompany that we had a contract with. they said that they would be here right away. I waited and waited and waited an no one came. I caledd several times and they assured me that someone was coming. The longer I waited, the more people moved their cars out. It almost came to be that it wouldn't make any sense to tow the car. There were enough spaces now available. I really wanted that car towed becuase they jsut can't park in other people's spots. While I waited I decide to move my roommates car into one of the empty spots. As i was doing that I found the owner of the car and told them that I didn't appreciate they took my spot and I was very tired and wanted to sleep. I didn't say anyhting about the town truck coming. I called them soon after and told them the the car has already been moved. I probably would have made another Towed Car page. Don't get me pissed off or bad things will happen. posted at 8:46 AM by Super Ben [Holiday Inn Express, SLO, CA] Is anyone out there? If anyone is out there would you mind replying to my posts. You jsut need to click on the comments link and it will bring up a form. I just want to know who's coming through here becuase I know there's a fair amount of traffic through here. Tour Group Power Struggle I just got word from Pat that the video will be done soon. I'll get that up tomorrow if I can. posted at 1:42 AM by Super Ben Sunday, October 21, 2001 [Home, SLO, CA] Updating I finally found some time to do some updating. I added Ahmed's Farewell Party and Anime Express Grand Opening. I need to add the CCLA End of Term party as well. UAL Flight Change I came hoem yesterday to find United Airlines had called and told me that there were changes in the reservation. It turns out that becuase there are less travelers they had to cut out some flights and change mine around as well. I am now leaving oen hour later and arriving 30 minutes later than originally planned. I also leave at the same time for my return flight but get back here 10 minutes earlier. I hope that is correct because I planned it so that I will be back just in time for class at 1:30pm. I'm going to have to call them back again because I noticed today that they changed 3 out of my 4 seating assignments. I hate sitting over the wing. I want to be able to see what we're flying over and not be bored. posted at 10:51 PM by Super Ben [Holiday Inn Express, SLO, CA] Last Hour Problems Today someone got stuck in the elevator at around 6:00am. I had to call Tony in and he wasn't even supposed to come in today. I hate the last hour because it drags on and on. I don't have to deal with people for the whole night, but around 5:30am or 6:00am is when they start to trickle down. Today they started coming down at around 4:30. It was really odd. Other problems I encounter are the water heaters going down or people locking the bathroom door. It's hard for me to leave the desk to help these people out becuase I am the only one here. I need to be at the desk to check people out and to answer the phone. posted at 6:03 AM by Super Ben |
