Regrets
Not only was communication a problem in my last relationship, but there were dishonorable things that I did as well. I don't want to mention what it was, but it caused someone great pain. Causing pain to her ultimately hurt me as well. As I mention in a Blog from several months ago, I wish that I could have done it differently. But now it is too late and I have to live with my mistake. But becaus eof this mistake I have learned from it, but at a cost.

Communication
Communication is really important in a strong relationship. Towards the end I figured that it was my mistake in my last relationship not to have much communication. Most of it was one sided with her talking to me. I just took it for granted that she knew what I was doing. I assumed that our relationship was one where we could do things and mutually understand each other without saying a word. Boy was I wrong. Let's jsut say that I learned to be more open and to get what I'm thinking out in the open. My stubbornness with this caused me to lose a very important person to me. Although she is still my friend, I would rather have her as someone closer.

Debt Repaid
My friend, Diane, finally paid me after years of owing me money. I sold her some stuff a while back and she finally got around to paying me back. I had her go to a Bank of America branch in Stockton to deposit money into my account. Now I can stop bugging her about it. I actually didn't really care if I saw it anymore or not because it was long past already. It's a good thing she finally pulled through because I am really low on cash right now.

Impatient People
Today I came across so many impatient people. Driving back here to SLO from Stockton normally takes 4 hours but it took me 7 hours today because I got caught up in traffic. At one point on Highway 152 when I ws crossing from I-5 to 101 through Hollister I was stopped. I moved about 0.3 (zero point three) miles in 2.5 hours. People kept crossing in front of me and making a U-turn over the center divide to double back. I, on the other hand, sat patiently and waited until whatever was holding us up was taken care of. I think it might have been an accident, but by the time we passed whatever the trouble was, it was gone. Sure, I could have turned around like the others did, but I showed some integrity and sat through the whole thing. Short tempered people will never get through anything in life if they won't push though the hard times.
Drinking Alone
The other day I bought a gallon of Minute Maid High-Pulp orange juice. I had about one glass of it and then I left to go to Stockton. My friend Horoki isn't here right now, but he drank it all in one day. I went into the fridge earlier becuase I was thirsty, but I only found an empty jug sitting in the refrigerator. I was disappointed becuase I was looking forward to chugging down some orange juice. Instead I am sittign here by myself drinkng a glass of Ernest & Gallo White Zinfandel wine. How sad is that. All i really wanted was orange juice.

Merry Christmas
Merry Christmas to y'all. I hope you are having a great time with your families and stuff. Today my family and I went to have lunch at some relatives' house in Hayward. After that we headed to dinner at another relative's house in Stockton. We really didn't get any presents. the only thing I got was $10 from my uncle. They were brand new bills and in sequential order. This year didn't really feel like Christmas to me. Last year didn't either but it felt more like christmas even though I was in Japan. Christmas isn't really about the presents but being with family. I haven't recieved any Christmas presents for the last couple years from my family becuase we really can't afford to do so. I hope next year that I will have enough money to buy some presents for my family and closest friends.

Being Home
It feels good to be home. Especially after having driven for over 4 hours. I stopped off in Berkeley first to pick up my brother and sister. I hardly come home now. And when I do, I don't really spend much time here. Maybe one, two, or 3 days at the most. I did come for 2 days last month for Thanksgiving. It's always good to be back home.

Harry Potter and the Chamber of Secrets
It's 4:36AM and I have just completed reading the second Harry Potter Book. It took me a little longer to read this one than the first. I only read a chapter here and a chapter there, but last night and now I raced through the second half because I started getting to the exciting parts. It's been a while since I have been motivated to read books. I don't even read my textbooks for school. This is only the 3rd book I have completely read since I graduated from high school. But now I feel that my motivation for reading has returned. I'll start reading novels as soon as I get to finish Harry Potter books 3 and 4.

A Lonely Palm Tree
During my 20 minute drive south from San Luis Obispo to the small town of Cayucos, I noticed a lone palm tree over to the side of the freeway on the edge of some farmland. I didn't see any other one like it around. It also stuck me as odd becuase it kind of stuck out of the scenery. I couldn't help but wonder how it ended up there. I thought that we were pretty close to the coast so it may have been there naturally and the farmers never bothered to take it out. Or it could have been placed there as a seed from a bird droppng it as it flew by many years ago. Or maybe the owner of the land put it there on purpose, but it was in the middle of nothing. Who knows? I'll probably think about this every time I pass that tree.
