[Home, SLO, CA] Webpaging Pat and I have been extensively updating our websites. I suddenly got this bug to update my site heavily. I've done about 30 pages in the last week and there are many more to come. because I have been doing so much on mine, Pat decided to take it upon himself to document his life. I on the other hand am still writing my history. I've already got quite a bit up. Check out our pages. The asignment was to do an introductor speech to tell the class a little about yourself. I decided to tell about 3 of my greatest adventures, Grand Canyon, No Shelter '99, and Escape from SLO. My class was at 7:00am, but I didn't get my speech done till 2am. I called up a couple of friends and practiced on them. They all assured me that I would do fine. It was different the 3 times that I did it. I wondered how it would turn out when I would actually do it. Speech In Class My actual speech went pretty well. I did forget to mention a big part of my Escape from SLO story. I forgot ot mention that the trip from touchdown in Tokyo to takeoff was 47 hours and 35 minutes. My beginning had a joke that everyone laughed at and they paid attention the whole way. I wanted to advertise my site and tell eery one to visit it, but I didn't want my speech to seem like an advertisement for my site. I think I'll just e-mail the whole class to tell them afterwards. posted at 9:21 PM by Super Ben Wednesday, January 16, 2002 [Home, SLO, CA] Olympic Torch The Olympic Torch passed through our town today. San Luis Obispo wsa one of the many cities selected to host the festivities. I really didn't want to go, but my friends persuaded me to go. It wasn't actually that bad. 21 torch bearers ran through teh city. The mystery of how the flame traveled was revealed to us on the stage. It is actaully carried in a small lantern when it is not on a torch. I guess that the lantern must be heavily guarded. I'm sure they don't want the flame extinguished on its journey from its beginnings in Greece. posted at 9:28 PM by Super Ben [Home, SLO, CA] Candy first thing... This morning I woke up and the firs thing I did was pop some candy into my mouth. They were Sour Patch Kids to be exact. At the time, I didn't think anything of it, but my hunger came over me and I realized I ate somethng already. When I remembered what it was, I realized that it was candy, not food. I thought to myself, "What the hell is wrong with you, dude." I shouldn't be eating candy for breakfast. posted at 11:31 AM by Super Ben Tuesday, January 15, 2002 [Home, SLO, CA] Power Outage There was a power outage today that blacked out half of the town. I bought American Pie 2 on DVD today and I wanted to watch it, but unfortunately I couldn't. I ran to the hotel to borrow a lantern so that I wouldn' be sitting in the dark. It only lasted 2 hours, but that was sur a long ass time without electricity. I couldn't do anything without electricity. i realized how hard it is for me to survive without it. I am way to dependent on technology. posted at 9:01 PM by Super Ben Monday, January 14, 2002 [Home, SLO, CA] Papercuts Getting a papercut is inevitable while working in an office, but last night I got several papercuts. I don't know why I was getting all of these papercuts because I was doing the same things as I usually do. posted at 8:58 PM by Super Ben Sunday, January 13, 2002 [Holiday Inn Express, SLO, CA] White Guys and Asian Girls Pat sent me alink to an article from UCLA's daily paper titled Interracial Romance: true love or trend? I don't see what the big deal is. People only talk about Black people with White people or White people with Asian people, but not others. These people are just drawing attention to themselves. Let people date whomever they want to date. In the end we are al just people. posted at 11:17 PM by Super Ben |
