Giving Back
I have been inspired by my friend Gary. I went to his house last night to help him out with his computer and he paid me generously paid me and gave me dinner on top of that. Everytime I go there, I always hear many stories from his past.

Gary had it rough when he was young, but he is now happy and has a great life. He has a great family with an awesome dog living in a house he designed, located on top of a hill overlooking San Luis Obispo. He is so happy that he gives hope to those who don't. He told me that he paid one girls way through a private high school because she had no parents. He could relate to her becuase he had no parents while he was younger becuase he took off from home. His only requirement is that she pay it back, but not to him, to someone else, with no strings attached. He said that he has also helped others in the same way, but requiring that they pay it back someday to help out others.

I don't totally understand him, but I know enough that that is something I would like to do. I like helping people. I guess that's why I switched from engineering to teaching. There are certain aspects of what he has gone through that I could relate to because I have gone through those myself. Gary knows what it is like to have a rough life. He's trying to make it easier for the rest of us that are having a tough time like he did. Thanks Gary. You;ve helped me a bit and one day I willpay it back.

Being the IT (Industrial Technology) Guy
Recently everyone's been asking me for computer help. The is Bill at CCLA with the network of 7 computers, Gary with his one home computer, Dale and the reports, Dale's son Eric with the internet business, Hiroki with his new iBook, Chiyo with her Japanese laptop and digital camera, Kimiko with her dead laptop, Tony's Mom's laptop, Mika with accounting software, Young's Nephews computer, Masa with back up, Joe and his website, and my new PC and iBook. That's a lot of stuff to be working on.

This is good to keep as a side job, but I can't rely on this. I guess this is what happened with the dot com busts. Everyone was all popular and making money, then wham, the dot com reaper came. I'm glad that I am so knowlegdeable about computers. They have helped me in so many ways.

French Fry Psychology
What kind of french fry do you like? That's the thought that passed through my mind as me and a couple of my friends were sharing a huge basket of fries at Firestone Grill tonight. I know that i don't select random fires. while eating one, I am already stalking the next one. My selections don't always come from the same place and I noticed the others' didn't as well. I like french fries that are slightly crunchy, but still have potato in them, preferably, ones with crunchy tips and soft middles. Aya likes the same ones as well. Hiroki on the other hand was harder to figure out. I knew he liked the ones with seasoning, but he kept grabbing all sorts of odd ones. Chiyo likes regular potato fries, the ones that are perfectly cooked. Closer to the end I told everyone about this and they agreed and thought that my thinking was very interesting. I then tld them that I would guess which fried they would grab. I was right on the money with Hiroki, but he tried to trick me by not selecting the ones he normally would have.

Carsicle
This morning I was a little late to class. My lateness was due to all of the ice on my car. It wasn't frost, it was I-C-E, ice. It rained all day yesterday and I guess it got so cold last night that all of the water on my car froze, creating a thick shell of ice around my car. It was kind of like when Doc Brown did his first Time Machine Experiment with Einstein in the car. He sent the car 1 minute into the future and the DeLorean emerged covered in ice. I had to crack my door handle just like Doc did in the movie to get it open.

I then started my car and hoped that the winshield wiper fluid would help get rid of the ice on my windshield. It only helped in the placed it touched, but then froze into the surrounding ice. I had to get out and use a credit card to take it all off. I ruined my card, but I guess that's good. That's one less credit card that I would use.

Later on, after I go out of class, my car had thawed itself out. it was surprisingly clean. The ice must have took all the dirt off when it melted away. I hope is doesn't get this cold again.

Staring at the Camera
I just realized how funny it was to be a newscaster staring at the camera especially during interviews. They're sitting there staring at the camera while asking and answering questions. They are supposed to be answering to each other yet they are staring into the cameras/audience. It's like talking to yourself or something. I guess that's better than public speaking because you don't see any eyes out there staring at you.
