Steak and Lobster
Tonight I went out with a friend to a restaurant in Morro Bay called The Great American Fish Company. I was feeling rather like indulging myself so I ordered steak and lobster. The price on the menu was 'Market Price' so I knew it was one of their best. My dinner partner was surprised. I explained to her that we need to indulge ourselves sometimes. Life is boring if we are always uptight. She totally agreed with my ideas. I also explained that money is not worh anyhting unless you spend it. I guess it's gonna be a while till I get to to do this again.

Driving Fast
i was late to work today by about half an hour. I was giving people rides home because I was the DD (Designated Driver). They all called me up and asked me while I was on my way out to door to go to work. I couldn't refuse because I want my friends to be safe. I was zipping all over town and driving real fast. But as I kept hitting stoplights, I realized that it was stupid to speed in the middle of a city. The only place where it is practical to speed is going down the freeway. There's no use in speeding in cities becuase the car you pass will always catch up with you at the light. I almost got caught by the sheriff who was parked in this little hidden place waiting for speeders to come by. Luckily I saw him just in time to slow my car down. i didn't need to be anymore late for work.

One Block Ride
Today I was invited to a little get together because my friend David decided to come to from Switzerland to visit SLO. He was last here about 2 years ago. We had the party at the house of one of hte host families for students. Afterwards when we were all taking off, we were splitting people up into cars. I only had one passenger, Chiyo. I drive her a whole one block to get home. I don't know about that. It was just wierd. Even though it was on the way, I have never given anyone a ride for such a short distance. It was really funny, too. Chiyo said that the car ride was the shortest one she has ever taken. I just wanted to share that moment.

Lowest Grade
Earlier I found out tha tI had the lowest grade in the class. The teacher broke down all of the scores on the board. Most of them leaned towards the upper half, but there were the few that fell below the line. I saw that he wrote down that there was one 'D'. I thought I was somewhere in the B area, but when I recieved my paper, I was really bummed. I felt that I had written it pretty well, even though the topic may seem a little odd. It was a paper about procrastination appropriately titles Almost Late. Here it is.

PDA Girl
Today, while standing in line at Office Max, there was a man that interrupted the cashier while she was rining me up. He wanted to know whether a particular piece of software required a PC or something else. His granddaughter wanted those games. It was one of those multigame packs with some card games and Tetris and stuff, but it was for a Handspring Visor. I told him that it would be about $200 for it and that there was comparable software for the PC.

After I was done, he asked me to show him what was needed. I pointed to the cheapest one, which was a Handspring for $199.99. I thought the price was going to turn him off, but he asked his grandaughter (6 years old) if she wanted it. She didn't know (probably becaus \e she didn't know wha ta PDA was). I suggested that he not buy it for her becuase the PDA was only for business people and "grown-ups." I asked her is she had a Gameboy Advance. She said she did in fact have one. I suggested that Grandpa just go to Wal-Mart and buy her a gameboy game and that would be better.

He asked her again if she wanted a game or the PDA. I reiterated my self and told him it wasn't a good idea, but then I left. I didn't stick around for his decision, but my take is that 6 year olds don't need PDAs. What are they gonna write down, "10:53 go to the water fountain, 10:55 meet Jan by the monkey bars."
