No Sleep
I think that I might be suffering from insomnia. I can't sleep regularly and I am not able to function at all. Could the Las Vegas trip still be haunting me? Or is it becuase of my job? I don't know. I hope it goes away soon or else I'm gonna go crazy!

Alive on the weekends
UCLA is pretty lively on the weekends. There were so many people out and about while we strolled through campus. There were several groups practincing singing and dancing right outside of the UU. Most of them were Filipino so I am guessing that they were practicing for their PCN (Pilipino Cultural Night).

Inside the UU, some students were filming a movie. There were also many people sitting around with with laptops because UCLA has a wireless internet system where any UCLA staff of student can log on with a computer that has an 802.11b card. I am typing this on an internet kiosk becuase I cannot log on to UCLA's system with my iBook because I am not a student here.

We have just had our breakfast and now it is time to go home.

Too Much Fun
There is such a thing as having too much fun. One has too much fun when they keep having fun after they are already pooped out. We spent the day today around Hollywood and at Universal Studios. We had lots of fun there.

We rode the tram tour first then saw Terminator 2: 3D. We ate and then rode Back to the Future before riding Jurassic Park twice in a row in our fashionable ponchos (LINK HERE). The final ride we rode was E.T.: The Extra Terrestrial. Our being slightly wet from JP and the coldness from flying on E.T.’s bikes space was not good.

The freeway was backed up at the time we wanted to go come back to the hotel. We wanted to leave so we decided to go to the Glendale Galleria despite being tired to wait out the traffic. It was better to spend our time doing something fun rather than sitting in traffic.

Back to the Future and Chicken?
Why does Doc Brown have a chicken restaurant outside the Back to the Future ride? I don't recall anyhting about chicken from the movies? It's pretty funny to see the logo. A cartoonish Doc Brown is holding a drumstick and has a big cheesy grin.

Apple Airport Connection
Wireless networking kicks ass! I pulled up to Pat's apartment a couple minutes ago and whipped out my iBook. I wanted to see if I could connect to his Airport Base station and it sure does work. The signal is on the borderline of weak and none but I was able to hop online while sitting in my car. The others in my car are totally amazed at what I am doing now. I have the future in my hands today. We will all connect to the internet like this someday.

Quick note: Drive around cities looking for open networks.

Wireless Computing
I just got my iBook and am finally enjoying wireless computing. The last laptop I had unfortunately had non-working batteries. I had to keep it plugged in at all times, which totally defeated the purpose of having it. I really didn’t mind because I was just borrowing it. It was nice having it as long as I did.

Mac OS X (that’s TEN not “ex”)
Now I have to get familiarized with working in a Mac environment. I’ve been working with PCs for quite a while and ignored Macs up until now. I think the first computer I touched was an Apple computer that I used at my school. I remember collecting all sorts of supermarket receipts to turn into class so that we can help earn computers for school. My mom had to put many cashiers through the trouble of separating receipts into three copies: one for me, one for my brother, and one for my sister.

I don’t think the transition from Windows to Mac will be a problem for me. Mac OS X and Windows XP are very similar in my opinion. I’ve had my PC set up to look like OS X for months. I added a docking to windows much like that of OS X. Windows and Mac OS are slowly becoming more similar. Who knows, maybe one day they will join forces. Or maybe not!

Jokes about me
Being who I am, I am usually the butt of most jokes. I usually set my self up and people actually follow through. I do this expecting that people do. But today was different. Somebody actually apologized to me for making a joke.

While driving down the 101 Southbound today, Chiyo actually apologized to me for making a joke about me. It was at 3:34pm and we were passing through Ventura. I thought that was amazing. I always made myself the butt of jokes without expecting anyone to apologize, but it sure does feel good that people actually care. Thanks Chiyo!

Burnt Out From School
I am totally burnt out from school. I am so close to graduating, yet so far. It gets harder and harder for me to get my work done and I fall behind. I ahve also been missing class left and right. I know I'm going to pay for it soon, but I need some relief now!

Olympic End and Still Tired
I cannot get myself back into a regular sleeping schedule. I am always going to sleep late at night (or shall I say very early morning). At least I can get to watch some of the Olympics while I am up. I got to watch Curling for the first time, but I still don't know what the brooms do.

My biggest disappointment was Michelle Kwan's performance in the long program. I was pretty sure that she was going to get the gold. Everybody was expecting her to get it, but when everyone saw her fall, they knew she lost it, but everyone cheered her on. It was good to see that she still got a medal though.

I wonder when the next Olympics will be held here. I heard somewhere on TV that San Francisco wanted to host an upcoming Olympics. Is there any space in SF to do so?
