Sleep Driving
That two hour nap wasn't enough. It was actually an hour and a half nap becuase my sister woke me up when she came home. The first hour of my drive was good. I was getting drowsy so I turned on my computer and started watching a DVD. It kept my attention for a while, but I started to get sleepy in the third hour of driving. I got off the freeway and went to Burger King so that I could have breakfast. I got to the door and it was locked. Should it still be locked at close to 7am? I went to McDonald's instead. The food woke me up for a short while after eating it, but I felt that it made me more sleepy. Down the last 15 miles befor eSan Luis, I almost hit an El Camino in front of me. I dozed off and sped forward, but I woke up in the nick of time. I think I did that a couple of times. It's really dangerous, but my bed was calling me.

Airbears Network
Unfortunately UC Berkeley only has wireless access at a few locations on campus. I thought it was going to be like UCLA where you could access it from anywhere, but I thought wrong. It would have been cool to get on the internet while waiting for the show to start, but instead I wrote out some stuff.

Internet on the Street part 2
I was so surprised to get on the internet while in San Francisco. I drove around for a while and then I had a hunch about what I could find when I opened up my iBook. Since I was waiting in a lot of traffic, I wasn't moving much and it was good if I found a network. At the corner of Main and Harrison street I found a netowork called "Home Airport." I had a stron signal and then I checked my e-mail and then logged onto Blogger. I lost the signal by the time I was logged in. I was bummed out cause it would have been cool to post from that spot. It's not everyday you can post things to the internet while driving. I closed up my iBook and then opened it up again a minute later caus eI had another hunch. I was only one block down but I had a fairly good signal to "Sally's Pad." My blogger window was still opened and I made a quick post. Technology is so unbelievable.

Running out of Juice
I left the interior light on in my car last night when I went to the show. My sister, Jimmy, and Julia came with me to hitch a ride to a party, but when I turned the key to start the car, it was dead. We spent quite a while flagging cars down and calling for people that could help us. But it in the end Bonnie and David came to our rescue. Thanks B & D!

To Drive or Not to Drive (until later)
I am pondering leaving for San Luis Obispo now or to leave later. My car stopped, but I tested it before I came inside. It turned on again so I guess I'm good. It is late, but I want to get home. I think I'll take a short nap and then go home. i'll get pu at like 3:30am or something. That'll give me about two hours to get a little rest.

Internet on the Street
I’m driving right now and I found 2 networks. I logged onto Blogger with the first one and posted when I got to the second one. More later from Berkeley cause I don’t know when I’ll lose the connection.

Finding Money
I love finding money in my pockets. Today I found a dollar in my jeans. It was in my left front pocket. Last night I found $1.25 in the same jeans but in the right front little pocket. What the heck is that pocket for anyways?

Great American Rib cook-off
The rib cook-off was postponed from last week to today. It started to rain and Farmer’s Market was cancelled. So this week, I made sure that I went so that I could get some good ribs. I went to Old Country Deli, which is a place I never tried before. Their ribs were really good and the guy even gave me an extra one. I think he was trying to bribe to get a vote from me. It sure did work. The ribs are among the best I have ever tasted.

Hearst Castle… again
I went to Hearst castle for like the 20-somethingth time. I’m not sure what it is, but it is always great to go. I can almost give a tour of the place myself. This time my group was well behaved. There were a couple of times I had to tell them to be quiet,, but it wasn’t like the last time I went when I was constantly telling them to be quiet or to stay with the group. They were rather uncontrollable. The other people on the tour kept telling then “Shhh!” but no one was listening. I was embarrassed to be there at that time because they knew I was the leader.

My group this time tried to listen, but the tour guide was really boring. He wasn’t as animated and active as the other 20 I have been with. I had to re-explain everything to the students after he explained it to the group. This is supposed to be listening practice for them, but the guy was so boring to listen to. He didn’t provide much new information either. Everytime I went before I was able to learn something new. It’s ok cause we all had lot’s of fun.

Wireless and Outdoors
Here I am again on CalPoly's wireless network, but today there is a difference. I am outdoors. RIght now I'm sitting on the lawn infron of Kennedy library typing away. I just finished downloading a 41 meg file form a friend. I was amazed tha tI was able to download at 100kbps constantly. It's great that I am able to do this now. I hope that more places on campus can have acces other then the library or the University Union.

Gold Card
Today I got a gold card from Bank of America. At first I thought that I got another credit card when I went to the mailbox. I wasn't expecting any card, but one came in the mail for me. I didn't recall applying for any credit cards recently. So I tore it open and found a gold card from Bank of America. I just got my new ATM card a couple months ago, but now they upgraded me. Maybe it's because of the large amounts of money moving through my account. I don't know why else I got one, but it's cool jsut to have it.

Getting Fat
My diet is over even thought I never really adhered to it. My friends and I are all going to get fat soon. We’ve all been eating out for the last week. The funny thing is that whenever they are with me, we always get free food because of my connection.

GOOD FOOD!!!
Wednesday: Umi (Youngs Restaurant)
I have wanted to go to Umi for the longest time. That last time I went there, it was closed. This time, I was able to drag along three friends so that we could eat together. I ordered spicy beef. Whne I got the dish, it looked small, but it was because the dish was really big. And I thought he forgot to bring us our sushi, but he brought two large sushi rolls right when we were getting stuffed.

Thursday: Izzy Ortega’s
At Izzy’s the other day, we got all of our dinners free. The manager told me beforehand, so I ordered steak and shrimp, but the server informed me about the special of Cajun shrimp and filet mignon so I got that instead. The girls also ordered some good dishes. I even ordered dessert for them because I know that girls like sweets.

Friday: My Place
The next night I cooked some Filipino Food. My friends and I cooked our country’s foods for each other every Friday. Maria was first with Chilean Food, then Mirella with Swiss Food. Last Friday was my turn and we also threw a surprise party for Maria. I was killing two birds with one stone that night. I cooked some adobo for the first time. It was really good cause the spices and stuff really cooked into the chicken. I also cooked some pancit with tasted better the next day because the spices made their way into it as well.

Saturday: Olde Port Inn
We continued our trend by filling up my car and going somewhere. We ended up going to Olde Port inn. It’s a seafood restaurant, but I wanted to eat chicken. I ordered Chicken Picatta which was served with rice pilaf and a salad. The four girls I was with thought tha ti twas expensive and ordered fish & chips and shrimp & chips, All of that deep fried stuff didn't settle with them last night.

Sunday: Royal Thai (Bert’s Restaurant)
Bert’s uncle called me yesterday to ask for help in extracting still images form his video camera. He had problems with connecting it to his PC and doing it himself. He wasrather amazed at how fast I was able to do it from my iBook. He presented Mirella, Chiyo and I with free dinner that night. I had spicy pork. Mirella tried it and it nearly killed her. It was spicy but not that spicy…to me.
