[Home, SLO, CA] Mentos Today I was eating fruit flavored Mentos to stay awake in class. When I oepened up the package, I found a pink one. I think thats peach, but I'm nto sure. I would have to say that is my favorite one. I popped another one out and it was pink. I thought that was so random, but when my next one came out, it was also pink. I was beginning to think that the whole package was pink ones, but the next one ended up being a yellow one. I don't know what the chances of that hapening are because the other colors didn't appear next to wach other in the package. What the hell am I typing about. It's late and my mind is already gone. posted at 11:30 PM by Super Ben Tuesday, April 09, 2002 [Home, SLO, CA] 13 Days Online Dang! I wanted to beat my friends record of being connected to AOL Instant Messenger for 18 days. I leave my screenname Team X Ranma on my main computer connected all of the time, but for some reason it disconnected thhis morning. I was monitoring it at school and noticed that I was only connected for 2 hours. But at least it was connected for almost 2 weeks. Now I just have to leave it on again. I've seen names online for up to 20 days. I would like to beat that record. It is much easier to do this now with Windows XP. posted at 10:55 PM by Super Ben [My Car, Kennedy Library Parking Lot, CalPoly State University, San Luis Obispo, CA] Early Classes My early classes this quarter are not as bad as I would have thought. They are pretty exciting, even though they are history and math. I guess that I might have a chance at actually pasing all of my classes this quarter. R & L Interference I was writing notes in class and I mispelled several words. I was putting l's in places r should have gone and r's in places l should have gone. I think my Japanese studies are starting to interfere with my English. Sometimes when I try to think in Tagalog (Filipino) my mind automatically switches to Japanese. I know more Japanese than I do my first language. Sesame Street Believe it or not, I learned my English from Sesame Street. Ask my mom and she will tell you the same thing. For the first couple years of my life Tagalog was my only language. I could speak and understand it. The only English that I got was from TV, and Sesame Street was one of my favorite programs along with Mr. Roger's Neighborhood. From the start of pre-school, I spoke only english and lost the ability to speak Tagalog. I still understand a lot of it becuase my mom still speaks to my brother, sister, and I in Tagalog, but all three of us respond in English. I guess it's good exercise for all of our brains. I process the incoming Tagalog and output English, and my mom does vice versa. It's a little sad that the ability to speak, but I think in the future, I can jog my memory and get back into the mix. Hopefully, I will be able to master Japanese, and remaster my Tagalog. But what the hell did I take 3 years of Latin for? posted at 9:56 AM by Super Ben Monday, April 08, 2002 [CCLA, San Luis Obispo, CA] Saying Goodbye Today I saw my friend, Suzuko, off at the airport. I haven't done that in a while. The last one I remember doing was for my friend Yukari, but that was a while ago. Her plane was a little delayed and then when they decided to taxi, the planes bound for San Francisco and Los Angeles both stayed at either end of the airport runway for the longest time. She was already closing in on the time for her connecting flight. The original flight was to leave at 10:30, but was delayed to 11:00 and then the planes jsut stayed at the ends. The 10:47 plane to LA took off at 11:07 and Suzuko's plane, the 11:00 one left at 11:11. I hope she go to her connecting flight safely. It's always sad to see people go, but I have done so many and said many hellos that I don't really say goodbye anymore. I know I will see most people again. And with the internet we can contact each other easily. I used to get tearful at first, like when my first roommate left or when some of the first students I met left, but since then I have seen most of them, so now I don't worry. In this world, there is always a chance I can see or hear from them again. posted at 3:43 PM by Super Ben [My Car, Library Parking Lot, CalPoly, San Luis Obispo, CA] Missing Class I can't believe that I was late for my History 207 class. I didn't want to go in because I've seen what he does to late people. It's best no to go in at all. And I went to sleep at 7pm last night and then woke up and saw 5:45am on the clock and then decided to sleep for a few more. I woke up at 7:07am and class started at 7:10am. I decided just to ocme here and then see what I would do. I decided to come back to my car and write my blog. I can't forgive myself. I slept for 12 hours and was still late for class. I think it's that damn time change. It was good for me last night becuase I had to work and that meant one less hour, but I guess my body hasn't changed yet. It probably thought I had one more hour to sleep. posted at 7:35 AM by Super Ben |
