Magic Mountain...redefined
I have never had such a worse experience at a theme park as today. I though today was gonna be a fun day despite the fact that I had to leave early so that I could get back in time to do the audit here. We started off today on time and I got to Santa Barbara to pick up the SB students with time to spare...or so I thought. I told them that I would be that at about 10:00am. It looked like I was gonna actually be on time.
I picked up Andrea at 9:50am just as I got into SB. It takes about 7 minutes to get to the school from her house. But about 3 blocks from the school, but the street was blocked because of "Viva la Fiesta." I had to go all the way around. I ended up getting there 4 minutes after 10. The students were complaining about my lateness and I explained that it wasn't my fault. It really wasn't. Anyways they held me up even longer because one student was still home taking a shower. He was a new one that I hadn't met yet.
We get on out way about 10:15am. I guestimated and told them that it would take 45 minutes to get there. It was more liek 1 hour and 15 minutes. I told them again that there were 45 more minutes left about 30 minutes into the ride. They were OK with it becuase it was to be expected. I keep telling them that it is at the end of the mountains, but every time we round the corner, there are more mountains to see.
The Magic Mountain Parkway is closed when we get to Valencia, so we had to get off at the next exit. There was a line of cars formed already from that exit all the way into the Magic Mountain parking lot. From the exit to parking the length of time was 30-45 minutes. I took the liberty of not listening to the guide and turning into the RV area. I think that a 15 passenger van is an RV.
The ticket booth line was one of the worst parts of the day. I had my ticket already, but I stood in line with the others to get their tickets. It took 1 hour and 45 minutes just to get tickets. That could have been one ride already. Once we get our tickets, we had to stand in these lines to get in through the security gate. That was about 20 minutes because they searched everyones bag. One person got cought with a pip and weed. They were video taped exiting the park.
And after that line was the line to get in through the actual Magic Mountain gate. That was about 10 minutes. We also foudn out that "X" wasn't functioning. I remember the lines last time were 4 hours long.
We got food as soon as we got inside and then went off to the rides. We waited 2 hours and 45 minutes to get on The Riddler's Revenge. That was the only freaking ride we rode. It was already 5 o'clock by the time we got off that one. We waited hours for 30 seconds of fun. I got more done at Disneyland last week in the same amount of time. WE all decided to take off cause we weren't going to get anything done. We should have stayed in Santa Barbara.
In Ventura, I got a ticket to making an illegal left turn and not yielding the right of way. It was unfortunate that one of those people that I cut off was a police officer. Damn. It totally sucks.
I also had parents yelling at me on my cell phone becuase we were almost 2 hours late. I told them 9 o'clock, but it was more like 11 when we arrived.What a day!!!

Yay! We're headed to Magic Mountain today. I have a trip with students from both schools in SLO and SB. I can't wait to finally ride "X". Gotta go!

572 = Girls Confuse Me! Why can't girls be more direct. I hate it when they play games. It might be hard for me right now cause it's been almost a year since I was in my last relationship. I totally messed that one up. Gomen ne Kaori. Demo ima kara, suki na hito o sagashite. Oops. My mind wandered into Japanese. What I was tryting to get across is that I am in the middle of my search for "the one." Where oh where can she be? But at the rate I'm going, it will take a while. 572...

Emotions
What an emotional day. This morning I took the Yamamoto Group to LAX so that they could all go back to Japan. I got up yesterday at 7am then picked up everyone. there were tearful goodbyes as I picked up some of the students. I knew that it would come down to that later one with them.
Anyways we spent all day at Disneyland yesterday. I was with the group of second year girls. Even though they only spoke Japanese, I could understand them and they could understand me. After Disneyland we stayed up all night. We even went to 7-Eleven so that they could buy some last minute stuff. After that I went to spend some time with the first year girls. I was gonna stay there till only 3 but I lost track of time. I told the other girls that I would be back in their room at 3:00am. Our departure was at 4:30 and that was the time I went back. They were a little bit angry because they were expecting mesooner .
We all loaded up at 4:45 and I drove them to LAX. We got there at about 5:45. We got them checked in and everything. we had a couple problems with immigration papers, but I think it may be cleared up soon. anyways everyone was cheked in and then time for goodbyes. I had a really emotional goodby from the 2nd years girls. They even bought me presents which brought tears to my eyes. Then it was time to part. The girls were really sobbing. I was happy and sad at the same time. I wasn;t hurt so much becuase I have done this so much tha tI know that I would see some of them again. I have proved that to myself already.
If I don't make it to see them, then some of them would make their way here and see me. I don't really say good-bye anymore. I just say "See you later."
Just a couple hours ago I went into the bag which held the presents. I noticed a card in there which I took out and read. The message on the back brought more tears to my eyes. These were special peole that have really had an impact on me.
