Alone Again
Oh how lonely I am. I woke up today to find myself alone again. For the last couple of weeks I would wake up to find someone next to me, or that someone next to me would be the one waking me up. It is also lonely in my apartment because my roomamate is not back yet. His school couldn't issue some paperwork and as a result, if he tried to enter the US, INS would send him straight abck to Japan. The apartment isn't as lively anymore and there will be no one to greet me when I go home or go out. I have to start cooking for myself again. It was cool to cook for two to for her to cook for us. How great it was to come home to a prepared meal waiting to be eaten.

Car Problems
I was so scared today when I was driving to LA. Yuka had to go back to Japan today and I was taking her to LAX (about 200 miles away). About 15 miles away form SLO, in Pismo Beach, my car started to shake. At first it was a small rattle, I thought it might have been the battery because I was messing with it yesterday. I was gonna ride it out for a little while, but it got louder and louder. I pulled over to the shoulder to find out what it was.
I went outside with a flashlight in hand to checck the engine, but everything looked fine to me. I then started the car again and started to go. The sound was still there, but I noticed that the right side of my car was really low. I went out one more time to check it, but I found a flat tire.
I emptied out my trunk so that I could get to the spare tire and tools. The freaking jack is a hard one to use. The thing to take the nuts off is the crank for the jack. I have to take it off at each turn. I can only do a half a turn at a time with this jack and wrench. It took me about 15 minutes to get everything done. Time was quickly wasting away.
We left the house at 5:30 so that we could have time to make it for her 12:30 flight. We figure that we would just leave early in case of traffic. When I picked her up, I spent 1 hour and 30 minutes going down a 15 mile stretch on the 405. I figure we get there before the recomended 10:30 check in time. but now it looks like we might almost be there after that. We still needed to stop for breakfast. It was jsut after 6:00am and I had two choices:
a) go back to slo and use my roommate's car. or
b) go to my teacher's house (for who I am house sitting) and take his car.
Since we were constrained for time. I decided to go just 2 more exits and then up to his house to get the car. I felt really bad for doing so, but I needed to get Yuka to the airport. I thought tha tI would just get the car an oil change, a full tank, and a carwash before I pick him and his family up tomorrow.
Airports
Theres just something about airport that I really like. they are great places to people watch. You may also spot some famous people at LAX. One time when I was dropping off students, we noticed some twins checking into Qantas Airlines on their way to Australia. those twins happened to be Mary Kate and Ashley Olsen from Full House. That was really funny. My friend took a picture with them, but their mom covered up the lens. But anyways I like seeing lost people, business people, late people running, families, people that can't speak english, and first class travelers and their entourages.

Persistent
My friend Yuka is very persistent. I usually let her have her way. But I think I may have spoiled her. She has yet to find out that she can't get everything that she wants. I can't stand to see a girl cry, but this is one of those things she needs to learn. I know that she wil appreciate it later on.

Beans and Rice
Beans and Rice is what one eats when they don't have much money. I just came back form Las Vegas this morning, but I still have no money. Sure I won a little bit, but that money is going toward paying credit card bills. I wish I had more doigh to pay down my debts. I wish I didn't have these debts in the first place. Onc eI pay everything down, I will never get another credit card. I might keep one for emergencies.
