Rocket Launch
While eating at Farmer's Market, something in the sky caught our attention. The sun had just gone down, but there was something bright streaking across the sky. I knew it wasn't an airplane. It looked like a rocket launch, but I have never seen any in the evening or roll over San Luis. It was great because it was high enough to catch the sun and reflect back a myriad of colors. The trailing smoke went from one end of the rainbow to the other. And as the wind blew the smoke, the result was something that looked like the Aurora Borealis. What a surprise this was. Meeting Sonja again
I ran into someone today that I haven't seen in about 2 years. I was at CCLA when I saw someone waiting to talk to Bill. I thought to myself that she looked familiar, but I wasn't sure. It wasn't until she handed her resume to Bill that I read her name and my hunch was confirmed. It was definitely her. I had spoken to her while I was working the Breakfast Bar at the hotel. She wanted to get into the same line of work as me. And now here she is knocking on the door trying to get in. It looks like she had quite an experience in the 2 years since we parted. She had been teaching in Italy and around Europe, but now she is looking for a place closer to home. It was good seeing her again.

Jesse Comes to Visit
I get this phone call the other day and it was my friend Jesse. I thought that she was still in Taiwan, but she told me that she was back in California, San Bernardino to be exact. And then I get a voicemail today afte rI get out of the movie theatre, she's here. She came up out of nowhere. It turns out that she got bored and decided to drive 5 hours to come to SLO. And she has to go home tomorrow. It's pretty cool to know that friends aer actually willing to do that.
