[home, slo, ca] The Sims Online I got my discs today for the beta test of the Sims Online. The install was 1.5 gigabytes. I'm glad I had enough space for it. The game is really addicting. It's addicting as the original game, but even more so. this is more fun becuase one gets to interact with people. The game is more like areally big chat room in which there are little side games that you play while you chat. A lof of the games played need more that one person. That is a really great addition to the game. There are so many new things as well. I think this wil be a great hit when it is finally released to the public. posted at 11:18 PM by Super Ben [home, slo, ca] Super Clean Apartment My apartment is super clean today. I started off by cleaning my room. Onece I got done with that, I started to vaccuum. I then got into the hallway and then into the living room where I had to force my roommate to shift stuff around so that I could vacuum under them. In the process, we got the living room clean. I didn't stop there. I went to finish off the dishes that were piling up on the kitchen. After those were done, I cleaned the stove and then I got to teh floor. We don't have a mop so I had to clean the kitchen floor with a sponge. It is super clean because I went though every inch of it myself. It's so clean that I would eat off of it myself. I don't know if I'll be able to say the same tomorrow. posted at 3:40 PM by Super Ben Friday, November 08, 2002 [home, slo, ca] Life as a Rain Drop Sitting in my Honda Civic in all of this rainy weather, I was thinking about life as a rain drop. Getting some irrregular drips while driving in downtown San Luis Obispo under some trees. Imagine starting off in aa great big body of water ot even a small one like a puddle and evaporating up into the atmosphere and floating for a long time. And then life starts to condense and you join your buddies and create larger drops. And eventually when you are in large enough groups you fall down from the sky because you're all fat and heavy. And then you start life all over again...unless you land in a tree where you sit and wait on a leaf until more of your buddies come to tip it so that you fall onto the next and then to the next and so on until you fall out of the tree and hit the ground or my car as a big fat drop. What the hell am I talking about?!? posted at 4:27 PM by Super Ben Thursday, November 07, 2002 [home, slo, ca] The Laundry Chute Today it was rainy and dreary outside. I felt like being silly and decided to go down the laundry chute. Since I started working at the hotel, I have heard stories of people going down the laundry chute. Actually they were stories of J.R. going down from many different people. So I decided tha tI was gonna do it myself. I got one of the housekeepers to open the first floor linen closet. I went in feet first and it wasn't too far before my feet his the curve in the chute. I could still see out of the door on the first floor. The housekeepers downstairs was laughing when I popped out. I then thought about outdoing what the other guy did. I was gonna go from the second floor. After a couple minutes of thought I went upstairs and had one of the maintenance guys let me in. I went in feet first again and then spread my feet out for traction on the walls and I slowly slid down to the basement again. The housekeeper was laughing again. Everyone knew what I had done and thought it was funny. When the general manager returned, she saw a big smile o my face and asked what I had done. I told her what I did and she got really pissed. Then she went into how some people got killed doing what I just did. I didn't think I was gonna get into trouble. I just thought that she was going to laught just like everyone else. She told me that this was the kind of thing that would get me fired. but there were no set warning before I did this. posted at 11:13 PM by Super Ben [home, slo, ca] Out of Order posted at 7:31 AM by Super Ben Wednesday, November 06, 2002 [home, slo, ca] Getting GoLive to Work I finally got Adobe GoLive to work on my iBook. I spent one hour fiddling with the settings just now. It took me several months to finally get it going. Hopefully I can get some cool stuff now that I am able to get more out of this powerful tool. I've been using GoLive for months now, but I've only been doing simple things because I coudn't get server side things going. I have Apache server on my iBook as well and now I can experiment with certain server side applications. Watch out for a better BCDC. I might wait until v3.0 to reveal anything. At least I'm not dependent on Frontpage anymore. posted at 12:59 AM by Super Ben Tuesday, November 05, 2002 [holiday inn express, slo, ca] No Breakfast This morning I came to work expecting to eat my breakfast from the breakfast bar as I usually do. I usually grab a some tea, a banana, and some yogurt with granola. But there were no banana's or yogurt because someone didn't order on time. At least I have my newspaper. posted at 8:00 AM by Super Ben Monday, November 04, 2002 [home, slo, ca] Walking Across Manhattan Last year I was in New York City. On this day I walked across Manhattan. (Click Here for pictures). I came across so many things. I even came across the ruins of the World Trade Center. I could never forget the feeling there. But overall it was a great trip to the city. posted at 10:46 PM by Super Ben [holiday inn express, slo, ca] Time Flies It's already 1:00pm. I can't believe how fast this morning has gone by. I couldn't leave the apartment and my Playstation 2 won't play DVD games anymore. I took it apart, but I won't be able to fix it without buying a new laser. I rented some movies but I've watched them all already. I guess I'll start working on my site again. posted at 10:58 PM by Super Ben |
