[holiday inn express, slo, ca] BBQ in the Dark Tonight we had a BBQ at the park. But since it was 6:00pm, it was already dark so we had to whip out our flashlights and stuff. That was the only way we could find the others. I had to call someone from the parking lot so that they could flash some lights to show us where they were. We had some fat steak, pork, chicken, and hot dogs. It was good to see old friend and meet new ones. But again I had to cut it short because of work here at the hotel. posted at 11:20 PM by Super Ben Friday, November 22, 2002 [holiday inn express, slo, ca] Dinner and a Movie Tonight we went to see the new James Bond flick. We've been waiting for it for a while. My friend Tetsu is a real James Bond fan so I went out yesterday to make sure we had tickets for today. It's too bad that I have to work tonight. Goshi's Treat Tonight, the owner of Tsurugi treated my friends and I to dinner. He just came back from a trip to Japan so he treated us. He told us that we could order anyhting we wanted. Another cool thing was that he sat with us and told us about his trip. Everytime we ran out of beer or sake, he jusst asked one of the waitresses to bring more. He would also bring us dishes that weren't on the menu. At other times we visit we can order things that are not on the menu. It's so cool to be able to order things that are not on the menu. It's one of the benefits of being a really good customer. But then again, it sucks that I have to work becaus eI had to rush myself and not take full advantage of tonights meal. posted at 11:57 PM by Super Ben Thursday, November 21, 2002 [home, slo, ca] Thunderbirds Thunderbirds is such a great show. It's pretty amazing to know how old it really is, yet it is still high tech in this day and age. The marionetting really gives the characters some life. If you haven't seen the Thunderbirds, check it out on Tech TV. posted at 7:03 PM by Super Ben Wednesday, November 20, 2002 [home, slo, ca] Eating Lunch Twice Today I went out to pick up my paycheck and since I had money I went to get a burrito at Tio Alberto's. The burritos are always huge so I only ate 1/3 of it. I set it aside so that I could eat it later. A couple minutes after that, Bill invited me to have some teat at Tsurugi's. While there he offered to buy lunch. How could I turn down a free lunch? We ordered Kitsune Udon and had a nice long chat about life and stuff. I'm still stuffed. posted at 11:13 PM by Super Ben Tuesday, November 19, 2002 [holiday inn express, slo, ca] Different Colored Ketchup Today we had Carl's Jr. for work, but Eric forgot to get ketchup. So we had to go into the "Box 'o Condiments" to get ketchup packets. I picked out 3 Carl's Jr. ketchup packets. I opened one up and squirted it onto my burger wrapper. I opened up the next one an squirted it on top of the first. It was a different color from the first. So I went for the the third one and that was a third color. I had two theories about why they were different colors. A.) They were made at differnt times using different tomatoes. B.) The darker ones were super old. posted at 12:21 PM by Super Ben Monday, November 18, 2002 [home, slo, ca] Bananas I used to hate bananas, but I really love them now. when I was younger, banana, was one of those nasty flavors that I did not want to taste. I don't know why, but I used to separate out all of the banana flavored candy in assorted candies like Runts. I didn't like banana chips, banana nut bread, or whatever foods included bananas. I guess the older you get, the more trivial things you get over. I now eat a lot of the things I used to hate, which includes a lot of vegetables. It really doesn't hurt to try something new. posted at 3:32 PM by Super Ben Sunday, November 17, 2002 [home, slo, ca] Minus One My apartment now has one less body. My roommate, Masa, of almost 3 years, has decided to move to a school in San Jose. We had teh goodbye party at Jocko's last night, and tonight a little get together for a couple of us original roommates from Stenner Glen at Tsurugi's. But now, Fuminori will have his own room instead of his living room. posted at 7:25 PM by Super Ben [home, slo, ca] Nasty Ass Laundry Chute The laundry chute in the hotel is hella nasty. Today was my first time working in housekeeping and stripping rooms. I had to clear the dirty towels and sheets out of the rooms people had checked out of. I also had to peel the bath mats out of the bathtubs. When my cart got full I had to throw those down the laundry chute. All of those nasty sheets, wet towels, stained sheets, stained towels, wet mats, and other nasty things. I wish I had never gone down the chute the other week. If i had worked in housekeeping before I did wha tI did, I would have not gone down the chute. posted at 12:04 AM by Super Ben |
