New Passport
I got my new US Passport today. I don't plan on using it anytime soon, but it is surely good to have just in case. It kind of sucked that I missed sending it in last year when the renewal rate was $35. Before I knew, the rate had gone up to $55. That extra $20 hurt, especiall when I don't have any extra money in the first place. But anyways this new passport is cool. THey no longer paste an actual photo and laminate it. The passport now has the picture printed on it. And the laminatin material is a holographic foil that has about 3 layers to my knowledge. One has an eagle on it, another one has words and seals, and the other one had Benjamin Franklin on it. It is pretty cool. If you don't have one, you should get one. You don't know when you're going to need it.

Umbrella Upgrade
Today I went out to dinner with a bunch of students from CCLA. We went to Golden China Buffet for a farewell dinner for one Swiss student, Michael. It was raining today so I took my umbrella for the half block walk form the shcool to the restaurant. I put my umbrella down near the front counter in an area where there were many umbrellas. The other students had put their down in the same place also. My umbrella was dark green in color and had to be manually pulled on to open up (it was really rather cheap). But anyways on my way out i saw that it was gone. I did see a dark umbrella underneath. i thought that maybe someone grabbed my umbrella thinking it was theirs. So I grabbed that one and as we were walking down the street I noticed that it had a wood handle and a button to open it up. My other one had a plastic handle and had to be opened up by hand. this new one was navy blue, a colot that I favor more than forest green.

A Nice Gesture
I was pretty surprised when I went out to get the mail. I recieved a card from the bank. It was a thank you card from the clerk that was helping me out the other days. She was a cutie too. The card was handwritten with the following message:
- Thank you for coming in today. Hope to see you soon.

Another Accident
Last week there was an accident near my apartment. The 101 Freeway runs parallel to my street and a car jumped the burb from the freeway and landed on a BMW that was parked on the street. The BMW was totally screwed up. This next accident happened about 50 meters down the street and another 30 meters down was another car. The first car had come off the freeway and landed in the embankment. Her car was messed up. But the next guys car was upside down on the freeway with the front end still in the slow lane. There were more cops and firetrucks than last time. I wish I had my camera to take a picture. No one was majorly injured.

Employee of the Year
While perusing the employee infor board at work, I noticed this memo for employee of the year. I was reading down and saw some girl from Shelter Pointe Hotel and Marina as the Employee of th Yar for the company and then a familiar shape caught my eye. Beneath the memo was a list of employees that were nominated from each property. My name...my name....was there on top of the list! how didn my name get there? I did at least one major NO-NO this last year. But it was pretty cool to see my name up there. It would have been even better to have been chosen as employee of the year.

Finally found Kathy
I have finally found Kathy. Kathy is a very good friend of mine from high school. We were very close. But about 3 years ago I lost contact with her when she was moving around a lot and didn't have a phone. This was prompted be a phone call I had with my friend An this mroning. She was asking me how Kathy was doing. I told her that I didn't know becuase it had been such a long time since I had talked to her. And then An said she had to go which I know wasn't true, but she always just leaves me hanging. i wasn't sleepy yet even though I had worked from 11pm the night before and then my other job at 7:30 to 9:30. So i decided to get on the internet and do a Google Search. I found a couple of matches and phone numbers. i didn't know whether they were new or old numbers and addresses, but I decided to try them. The first one led me to her school, CSUN (SEE-Sun, aka CSU Northridge). I knew she worked there before, but I wans't sure if she would stil be there. I didn't leave a message. Then I tried her second number and a sleepy voice answered the phone. I knew that was her and my heart stopped because i was finnally talking to Kathy after having searched a while for her. It was great to hear from her again, especially after 3 years. we swapped quick tidbits of the last 3 years and then she ahd to go cause her boyfriend was there. But I will definitely be calling her again.

Assoles
I hate punks that stay here in the hotel. They aren't really punkks, but the people that stay in hotels only because they need to or ones that stay like once or twice a year. Anyways I get a call at 11:30pm from a room asking where their pillows are. He said that he called about 5 hours before and was still waiting. I then told him tha tif he was waiting that long, why didn't he call the desk. Then he got all angry and stuff and told me not to tell him what to do. If i ordered a pizza or something and it never came, I would call them again. So what the hell? How am I supposed to know what he already asked for. And then he tried to ask me for a rollaway which he had already tried to ask for already. But being the employee and him the customer, I had to be apologetic, but at the same time explaining myself and telling him I diddn't know anything about it. So i went up and delivered it and they looked like some punks just out of college. Kind of like fucking frat boys.
