[marriott residence inn, salt lake city, ut] Clean Homeless People Alex and I were walking in downtown Salt Lake City and a person asked us for some money near the Greyhound station. He was pretty well dressed and looked pretty clean. Then it dawned on us that he was a homeless person. He was pretty clean. We were like, "Whoa, even the homeless people are clean." We almost considered giving him money. posted at 10:55 PM by Super Ben Friday, July 04, 2003 [marriott residence inn, salt lake city, ut] Independence Day We jsut came back from downtown Salt Lake City. There was a pretty good fireworks display, but a little on the short side. It was about 20 minutes long. We drove to Sugar Hill Park and made ourselves comfy. Maraija and christian decided to go to Taco Bell right after teh explosions began. Alex was on the phone at this time. And then the grand finale went off, but the other two weren't back yet and everyone started to leave. They had missed the show. Alex spent the whole show on the phone. I was the only one who had really watched it. A Nice Place to Live Salt Lake City is not that bad of a place. It's clean and housing is cheap. One can get a 2BD/1BA condo for $60,000. There was a "Luxurious East Draper Estate" which was a 8,343 sq. ft, 6BD,7BA, 5f/p for $200,000. That is very cheap compared to California prices. Iwouldn't mind having to live here. But part of me always wants to be near the ocean. posted at 10:44 PM by Super Ben Wednesday, July 02, 2003 [marriott residence inn, salt lake city, ut] Mosquitos I went outside for just a few minutes and had several mosquitos bite me. I have at least 5 bites right now and I was outside for less than 5 minutes. When I was in the Philippines, I was bitten so much. It was so bad in some places that I had to wear long pants and a long sleeve shirt to deter them. It is not very comfortable to wear these kinds of clothes in weather that is hot and is 100% humid. But my solution for here in Salt Lake is to not go outside. posted at 8:56 PM by Super Ben Tuesday, July 01, 2003 [marriott residence inn, salt lake city, ut] Close One I almost failed a test today. I missed 6 and to pass I needed to miss only 5. It wasn't fair because there was a trick question. Usually they had A) True and B) False, but one one question it was the other way around A) False B) True. The question before that had it the correct way. But because I was borderline, the instructor decided to change it and I ended up passing the test. We only get 2 chances to retest and I would rather save them for a rainy day. posted at 4:42 PM by Super Ben |
