Small Reunion
It's always great to see familiar faces when flying around. In the Denver crew lounge, I ran into Brooke, Maraija, Selma, Nicole, and Margo just right outside. They were all in the same trianing class as me. Kori, who helped us during training, was also there. It was pretty cool to see so many poeple from the same class in the same room so long after training.

Back to Work
I'm back to my normal schedule. It's a little hard but I have to do it. I can't afford to miss out on anymore work. It turns out that my FO (First Officer) also had the flu. I feel a little bad, but I had caught it from one of our passengers on an earlier flight we were on. Right now I am waiting for my room service. I don't mind ordering it up here in Canada because it is a lot cheaper than in the US, even though there is like 20-something percent tax on it.
Back to the Gate
When we were in Fresno this morning, it was so foggy that we couldn't take off. Our aircraft had a certain component called ACARS which automatically logs our time from when we close the door to when we open it. We want to close that door as early as possible and open it as late as possible so we get paid as much as we can. The captain made the decision to board everyone so that as soon as the fog lifts we would be ready to take off. The three sensors on the runway had to register at least 600 feet. One was at 700, the other at 600, and the last at 500. We just needed that last one. But about an hour after closing the door and sitting there, one man wanted to get off. He said that it wasn't worth it to take the flight if he was gonna miss his connection, and thus missing his meeting. Why schedule your flights so close to the meeting? You should get there the day before? so anyways we had to open the door and lost that one hour of duty. That's one hour of pay that was lost. The pilots wondered if I got his address because they wanted to kick his ass for wasting an hour and resetting the duty clock. hopefully we can get that hour back.

Back to LA
I got up really early this morning to work out of San Luis Obispo's airport. I reported at 6:05am, departed SLO at 6:51 arrived in LA at 7:43, had a 1 hour 22 minute layover, then back to SLO at 9:05-9:55, then back to LA on the 10:20 flight. I worked for 1:42 and got paid for 3:45, plus I got a free flight. You can't go wrong there.
Back to Universal
It's been a while since I've been to Universal Studios. I used to come here all the time with CCLA. We came here today with the group from Yamamoto Academy with whome I have worked with for the last 5 years. I love working with this group becuase meet so many new people all the time. We like to let them have a little fun before the work begins. Their english classes start tomorrow, and guess what? I am one of their teachers!

Back to SLO
I don't even know when I was in San Luis Obispo last. Being sick and all, it was a fairly difficult 3 and a half hour drive. But I am here and ready to have some fun. Tomorrow a group from Japan is coming in. I've been working with them for the last 5 years. I work really early out of SLO airport and worked it out so that I can be back in LA in time for their arrival.
